When African Wildlife Gets Meme Names And Makes Us Smile

We all know Africa’s wildlife by their traditional names, but from today we’re going to see them a little differently. During my adventures in the bush, I’ve started giving these magnificent creatures names that might make you smile. Picture a majestic lion, his mane glowing in the golden light – that’s what inspired me to call him Sunshine Puff. Or watch a leopard mysteriously appear from nowhere, earning the title Hidden Kitten. Each time I head out with my camera, these playful names help me see these animals in a new light, mixing their wild nature with a dash of internet humor.

Join me as we explore the Big 5 who’ve earned their meme-worthy nicknames through their unique personalities and behaviors in the wild.

Fun fact time! When they’re not being adorable on camera…
– Sunshine Puff is actually a Lion (Panthera leo)
– Hidden Kitten is really a Leopard (Panthera pardus)
– Squish Tank is technically a White Rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum)
– Noodle Face is formally an African Elephant (Loxodonta africana)
– Rage Cow is officially a Cape Buffalo (Syncerus caffer)
